Ah, back to work...
Well, the weekend was not so bad!
On Saturday, Powell E. Way, W4OPW from Newberry South Carolina and myself headed over to Wild Wings Restaurant at The Village at Sandhill in Columbia for a get together with a few fellow radio geek-a-zoids from the South Carolina radio-info.com message board!
In attendance was "CrazeeCarroll" along with "DudeFan", "RobynWatts", Powell and myself. The food was pretty good and the company was even better. it was nice to get together with some fellow radio folk and chew the fat about the business and such for a few hours. I enjoyed the afternoon/evening and hope we get to do it again soon!
I suggest you all check out "The Independent Alternative" WXRY-LP/99.3 in Columbia. They have a cool website, some cool (laughs) jingles and some nice swag in their online store! You can find them at www.wxryfm.org
Oh, and I had a chance to listen to WKDK 1240, Newberry's OLDEST radio station on the good ole' AM radio dial instead of over the web! They have a nice format, I love the music and vintage jingles! Check them out at www.wkdk.com
Some exciting things are happening here at WABV! We're gearing up to get this station back to Full Power, with some even better audio! I'm awaiting some transmission cable.. once we have that, all the peices will be in place. In the enxt few months, I expect to take WABV off the air for a Saturday to replace the transmission cable, replace the ATU and do some serious hedge/tree trimming around the tower!
I've also hired a salesperson, his name is Chris! I'm REALLY excited about having him on board.. he's a knowledgeable fan of Classic Country music and he's not afraid of some hard work! He also completely understands my visions and goals for this radio station. We've got some great things in store for the radio station!
Anyways, time for me to sign off from the PC< clean up a little and go to bed soon.
