Whew....Computer problems at Work!
...You know about Murphy's Law, right? Well, it seems to apply to me..ALOT!
About 10 minutes before I was going to go to bed, the automation comptuer at WABV wouldn't boot up 100 percent. It'd show the desktop wallpaper, but wouldn't load the start button or desktop icons. For al lyou non raido folks, the automation computer is what plays out the mp3's on the hard drive of our classic country music.
I pulled a computer in from the transmitter hallway and put it in a corner in the studio. It doesn't have any music on the hard drive but it does have an internet connection and Winamp on it.
We are simulcasting another radio station right now and probably will simulcast them on Wednesday and Thursday as well..possibly even Friday, depending on how quickly we can fix the computer and reload everything into it.
You can tune into our webstream at http://www.wabv1590.com I have it turned on right now, it's encoded at 24K Mono. (And yes, the other station knows I'm simulcasting them)
*WHEW*.... Im going to go take a nap, I need a bit of a rest after running around for 2 hours earlier this morning trying to get everything up and running.
