Here's the Audio & Transmission Equipment for WABV-AM 1590 in Abbeville, South Carolina where I work, in the capacity as Operations Manager & Program Director!
Let me give you a little "run-down" as to what's in this picture.....
On your left is a Late 1960's Vintage Gates BC1H Transmitter rated for 1000 Watts. It uses four 833 tubes but the audio is solid state modulation. This transmitter was originally tuned to 1450Khz. The Gates BC1H was installed after the RCA BTA1-M failed after 51 1/2 years of faithful service to WABV!
In the rack next to that, from top to bottom.. is my AM Modulation Monitor, an Innvonics 222 Audio Processor and Symetrix 528 Limiter.
Below that, you will see my Burke EAS Unit and 2 the FM radios on top to recieve my Primary and Secondary signals, WSSL 100.5 & WESC 92.5 from Greenville.
There used to be several other things in the rack, but they were removed
because they were severely outated.
I've also added a Wegener Satelitte Reciever

Here is a gates BC1G transmitter that I got from WDAB 1580 to eventually use at WABV!

Here I am sitting in at the console, which is like 6 or 7 feet from the transmitter in the above pictures!!
I've got a Radio Systems RS Cart 2000 Cart machine, an RCA 10 Channel Rotary Pot Console which dates from the
mid 60s along with a PC and a WORKING Russco Pro turntable!!
In the room behind the studio, there are several NON WORKING reel to reel and cart machines along with
old Pepper Tanner records and various/asundry equipment...
Look closely on the wall above my console... see my Fybush Tower P0rn Calendar?? :=)

This is a Coke machine in my back hallway here at WABV. I figure the machine is about 25 years old. It still works and is infact, plugged in.. keeping my soda cold along with some sandwich meat and various other things fresh! Just a few days ago, I put in a newer home/kitchen type fridge, but I still use the soda machine, I love it! A Conversation piece!!

Apparently, WABV was once an UPI Affiliate, as evidenced by this antique teletype machine that someone left behind years ago!!

Here's my new Flat Screen monitor in the studio attached to a new HP Computer in the studio that will be sued for internet srufing/chatting and audio production!!

I've found several other piece of old WABV stuff here, including old stationary.. sales contracts, transmitter and programming logs. Sitting in the hallway along with the Coke machine is over 500 music records!!
(
The transmitter logs, show among other things, that I do in fact have a 500 Watt Pre Sunrise Authority, which is a godsend for Daytimers...!!)

Here I am camping in Wiggins, Mississippi back in February 2005!
